Local Walks

Some of the walks accessible within a few miles of Holewell Farm:

• Dartmoor Tors. Climb to the top of nearby Ingrid Tor, Leather Tor or Criptor for stunning panoramic views.
• Walkham Valley. The path follows the river Walkham as it meanders through the picturesque wooded valley
• Burrator Reservoir. A 4 hour level walk around this beautiful reservoir and over the spectacular dam wall.
• Merrivale Track. Rocky track with huge moss covered granite boulders dotted with ancient dwarf oaks and unique flora.
• The Old Railway Line. A short climb to the disused railway line gives you a lovely relatively level walk to Princetown, where you can view the famous Dartmoor Prison
• Country Lanes. Numerous narrow lanes from village to village, made even more breathtaking with wild flowers in spring and summer.
• Coastal Walks. A little further away the clifftop walks of the South Devon and Cornwall coastline are still easily accessible.
